SWEDEN SERIES 17

I know what you are thinking, Sweden Series 17 is the national kit series, however that is actually not the case, so ok this is going to require a little explaining, here goes.
 

For a long time the Sweden national series was classified as Sweden Series 17, with the series of figures released in Norway as Norway Series 1, however i was able to access the official MicroStars website in Sweden (microstars.se) and on there was the original site menu which listed Sweden Series 10,11,13,14,15,16,17 and Svenska Landslaget, you will notice there was no Series 12 listed so i am further inclined to believe it was never produced or released.
 

Svenska Landslaget is the Swedish national series release, with that name featuring on all the packaging, nowhere on the box or leaflet does it mention being Sweden Series 17, so for that reason i am re classifying it as it's correct name of Svenska Landslaget


As for Sweden Series 17, the Swedish website listed it as the 40 figure collection (essentially UK Series 16 with the 8 convention 2008 figures) as being primarily sold in Norway but was also able to be purchased via their web shop. So i feel given how it was primarily sold in Norway it has for all these years being incorrectly referred to as Norway Series 1, when in actuality it is Sweden Series 17.


So to summarise, Norway Series 1 is being re classified as Sweden Series 17, and what was previously known as Sweden Series 17 is now called it's correct name of Svenska Landslaget, which is the Sweden national kit release. Now that is all cleared up we can move on.

Sweden Series 17 consists of 40 different figures, 32 of which were previously released as part of UK Series 16, with the MC codes being identical too.

 

 

The other 8 figures were released as Corinthian Convention 2008 Specials, however the convention specials were only done on a Gold base, Sweden Series 17 features these 8 on all 7 base colours, making them exclusive to this series, the exception being Kaka who was also released in Italy series 2.

The rare figures from Sweden Series 17 are of course the 7 figures which were exclusive to the series, apart from their Gold bases of course, but acquiring then on the other 6 base colours can be very problematic, with the Black bases being amongst the rarest produced.

Unfortunately I do not have images for the packaging or information on how the figures were sold and distributed, my assumption would be that they were sold in blind boxes, the same as the other Sweden Series.

Each figure was released on all 7 base colours, Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver, Gold and Black base, with the goal keeper figures of Paul Robinson and Andreas Isaksson having 4 different MC codes per base colour.
