UK SERIES 12

The 10th October 2005 saw Corinthian release MicroStars UK Series 12, with this series seeing a major new addition, with the number of different base colours increased from 6 to 7, as we saw the introduction of the Black base!​

Black bases had a higher rarity ratio than any other bae colour, and topped the rarity pyramid with a ratio of 1 in 50, which was higher than a Gold base which was 1 in 40. In terms of playing the WCL the Black base was essential, as there was not individual stat ratings, instead there was just a FREE CALL of 23, making it virtually unbeatable.

The Black base became an instant hit with collectors and has always been regarded as the pinnacle of MicroStars collecting, with Black bases being the most valuable by some distance.

MicroStars UK Series 12 consists of 48 different figures, with the figures released in 3 different capsule colours, spread across 3 different packaging formats.

There are 32 figures in club home kit, which were found inside the Dark Green capsules, with 8 in club away kit found in Yellow capsules, while the Silver capsules contained the 8 figures in international home kit.

The single player pack contained all 32 club home kit figures, with each pack coming with 2 chocolate Footballz, a Dark Green or Gold capsule, being found in retail stores priced at £1.19

The 2 player pack contained all 48 figures, each pack coming with 4 chocolate Footballz, a Dark Green or Gold capsule, plus a Silver or Yellow capsule, being sold in retail stores priced at £2.19

The 3 player pack contained all 48 figures, with each pack coming with 6 chocolate Footballz, a Dark Green or Gold capsule, a Yellow or Silver capsule and a guaranteed Gold capsule, which would contain one of the 48 figures on a Gold base. The 3 pack was available from retail stores and also via Corinthian Direct, priced at £2.99

This series was also released in Japan as Miniatures series 11, with all 48 being included and had identical MC codes.

All 48 figures were released inside a sealed clear plastic sachet and placed in a capsule. Each figure was released on 7 different base colours, Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver, Gold and the all new Black base! The goal keeper figures were released with 4 different MC codes per base colour, however there was just one MC code for the Black base.
