UK SERIES 16 PREM 07/08

Shortly after the start of the new Premiership season, Corinthian released MicroStars UK Series 16 Prem 07/08, with this series seeing a couple of changes to the product.

The MicroStars logo was refreshed with a more curved and bouncy appearance, and the chocolate Footballz were replaced by Jelly Beans.

This series consisted of 40 different figures and was released as a single player pack and a 3 player pack. The single player pack contained 24 different figures while the triple pack had all 40, unfortunately I do not have an image of the single pack to determine who those 24 were, so that information will be added when i am able to acquire it.

 

 

There was a real distribution issue with the Series, to get the product into stores Corinthian split the delivery into 2 waves, the initial wave was made up of the repaints of previously released figures, the second wave had the new sculpts like Bale, Sagna, JVOH, Pennant, Sidwell etc, however it was apparent that the production volume of these new sculpts was far lower, which explains why those new sculpts are seldom seen on the secondady market and are very hard to find.

This series was also released in Sweden as Series 17, however 8 of the figures were not included in Sweden Series 17 and remained exclusive to UK Series 16 Prem 07/08, those 8 are Gary Neville, Anton Ferdinand, Craig Bellamy, Ivan Campo, Alan Smith, Mark Viduka, Rolando Bianchi and Stewart Downing.

 

 

All figures were released on 7 different base colours, Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver, Gold and Black, with the goal keeper figures having 4 different MC codes per base colour, except Black base which had the solitary MC code.
