COCA-COLA 2006 MUNDIALISTAS

Corinthian continued their partnership with Coca-Cola in Mexico to release a set of 26 figures, with the release done to coincide with the 2006 World Cup, with 20 being in national kits and the other 6 being fans!

There were 3 representatives for 4 different nations, with Mexico having 8 figures as part of the set. The Netherlands were represented by Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Dirk Kuyt and Arjen Robben.

Italy had a truly formidable trio, Fabio Cannavaro, Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso, with the 3 for Argentina being Pablo Aimar, Roberto Ayala and Esteban Cambiasso. Portugal were represented by Luis Figo, Deco and Ricardo Carvalho.

Those selected for Mexico are goal keeper Oswaldo Sanchez, Francisco Fonseca, Carlos Salcido, Guillermo Franco, Ricardo Osario, Ramon Morales, Giovanni Dos Santos and Rafael Marquez, with the 8th being an excellent sculpt of manager Ricardo La Volpe.

The remaining 6 were some truly superb figures, they were sculpts of football fans, called Fanaticos! These exceptional figures have always been highly collectible and sought after, simply down to their uniqueness.

 

​

All figures were released on a Red base and had their own unique collector codes, starting with CCM (Coca Cola Mexico) the figures did not have the player ratings under the base.

As with previous Coca-Cola sets, these were also released in Mexico as a sealed sachet product, however as with the series 1 set, Corinthian also produced a limited edition gift box, with they made available to collector club members attending the 2006 Corinthian Convention, with a gift box being given for free for every £100 spent at any one shop.

​

The box set can be hard to locate, due to it's popularity and the fact it contains all exclusive figures including the 6 fanaticos.
