MICRO DOME 2010 EDITION
MicroStars figures came with player ratings under the base which were used when playig the World Club League (WCL) game. Corinthian were constantly asked to produce some form of display stand for their figures, Corinthian combined the need for a display stand with their WCL game and the MicroDome was born.
The Corinthian MicroStars MicroDome is a carry case which opens up to reveal a pitch with markings for playing the WCL, along with some stands to display the figures, as if they were a crowd watching the game.
The MicroDome was a very popular item with collector's, it's only drawback was that it is very heavy which largely prevented collectors outside the UK for acquiring one, unless they were prepared to pay the high shipping costs.
2010 saw Corinthian release another version of it's popular Micro Dome, which was the 4th UK version they had released. The 2010 Micro Dome contained 16 figures, all of which were exclusive to the set, with 2 of them guaranteed to be on a Black base, with the others being on a random base colour.
The fact the 16 figures were only available in the Micro Dome meant this was an essential purchase for any serious Micro Stars collector, with the figures being in a mix f home and away kits.
Arsenal had 2 figures included, Tomas Rosicky in home kit and Nicklas Bendtner in away kit while North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur were represented by Aaron Lennon in Spurs home kit.
Staying in London, we have 2 for Chelsea, Ashley Cole and goal keeper Petr Cech, both in home kit, with Cech being in a very striking Orange jersey.
Both halves of Manchester were represented, with United having Darren Fletcher and Dimitar Berbatov in home kit, while City had Wayne Bridge in home kit and Roque Santa Cruz n away kit.
Merseyside was also well represented with Everton having 3 figures and Liverpool 2, the 2 for Liverpool are Danny Agger in away kit and Alberto Aquilani in home kit, with the 3 for Everton being Tim Cahill and Steven Pienaar in away kit and goal keeper Tim Howard in away jersey.
The remaining 2 are from Spain's La Liga, with Barcelona players Zlatan Ibrahimovic being in home kit and Yaya Toure in away kit. A superb set of figures and one which has lways been highly collectible. The goal keeper figures of Cech and Howard had 4 different MC codes for each base colour, apart from Black, of which there was just the solitary MC code.
