JAPAN MINIATURES SERIES 3

Corinthian continued their partnership with New Wave in Japan, by releasing Japan Miniatures Series 3, unlike the other Miniatures series, there was no extension edition produced for Series 3.​

Japan Miniatures Series 3 consists of 46 figures, 45 were also released in UK Series 7, the only exception was the figure of Kazayuki Toda in Tottenham Hotspur away kit, who was the Chaser figure for this series, although he was not listed as such on the collector's information leaflet.

This away kit figure of Toda is very rare he is most often found on a  Gold base, as Corinthian made this available to UK collector's, however the other 5 base colours are very seldom seen for sale and I have never personally seen a Green base!​

The 7 figures in international kit were listed on the collecotr's information leaflet as Secret Special Edition, worth noting that Toda in Japan home kit from UK Series 7 was not part of this series.

In 2022 something rather interesting was discovered, which is that there was a China & Hong Kong version of this series released, called MicroStars Series 3, the box design was the same as Miniatures Series 3, however it only consisted of 38 figures, it did not contain the 7 international kit figures or Toda in Spurs away kit. Very little is known about this series in terms of release and distribution, as it was never mentioned by Corinthian, the figures are identical to those in UK Series 7 and Japan Miniatures Series 3 and they do come with a collector's information leaflet which was in Chinese.

The figures were released in single mystery boxes, each mystery box contained one randomly packed MicroStars figure, which could be on one of the six base colours, which are Green, Red, Blue, White, Silver and Gold.

A collectors information leaflet also came issued with the figures which detailed those available in the series, with the text being in Japanese. The boxes were released inside a CDU (Counter Display Unit) with 24 boxes per CDU, with the distributor for the series being New Wave, who's store was called Foot Circle.
